Carltons win Baker’s Doubles

WASHINGTON — Jim and Jeremy Carlton won the Baker’s Doubles Tournament held at Laurel Lanes in Washington.

A total of 33 two-person teams bowled in the annual event. The winners were the top qualifiers in the step ladder finals. They defeated the team of Burton-Burton by a 477-466 margin.

The Burtons made the finals by defeating Mattingly-Lemond, 467-420. The Burtons also defeated Mayes-Mayes by a 420-394 score, and Edwards-Edwards, 457-385.

Soccer meeting is set Sunday

The call out meeting for the U13 girls select soccer team will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, at the City Chambers. All girls and their parents should attend if interested in playing travel soccer next spring.

Boys improve to 5-0 with win

Washington’s eighth grade boys basketball team remained undefeated with a 52-25 win against Princeton.

The Hatchets (5-0) were led by 14 points from Matthew Stephens and 11 from Jeremiah Kirsch.

Jacob Overton scored 10, Austin Moody, Reid Neff and Chase Clymer scored four each, Max Lancaster three and Austin Fox two.

Washington won the B game. 39-5.

Clymer and Fox each scored 10 points for Washington (2-1). Donovan Langdon scored nine, Ben Lambert eight and Logan Bateman two.

Boonville defeated the B squad, 38-27, in an earlier game.

Bateman scored nine points, Tucker seven, Clymer five, Landon and Lambert two each and Fox one.

Seventh grade tops Pioneers

BOONVILLE - Washington’s seventh grade boys basketball team defeated Boonville, 27-26, Monday.

Kyle Humerickhouse scored the game-winning basket on an assist from Cameron Osmon as time expired.

Humerickhouse led Washington with seven points, Jamal Robinson and Coby Robinson scored six each, Michael Deaves four and Wesley Edwards and Brandon Wolfe two each.

Hatchet girls top Vikings

Washington’s seventh grade girls basketball team defeated Barr-Reeve, 24-22.

Elizabeth Stallman scored eight points and had six steals for the Hatchets (4-2). Sara Lewis had seven points and rebounds.

Spartans top Barr-Reeve

VINCENNES - South Knox defeated Barr-Reeve in a pair of fifth and sixth grade boys basketball games Tuesday.

The Spartans won the sixth grade game, 41-34.

Ross Knepp scored 12 points for Barr-Reeve (2-1). Gabe Gladish and Keshon Wittmer scored seven each, Isaac Wagler four and Gage Wilson and Tristan Graber two each.

South Knox won the fifth grade game, 31-25.

Keegan O’Neil scored nine points for Barr-Reeve (1-2). Mitchell Kavanaugh scored six, Jacob Wagler and Caleb Graber four each and Nathan Hunt two.
