LOOGOOTEE — Loogootee senior Conner Wittmer will be recognized before the beginning of this evening's boys varsity basketball game against Bloomfield at Jack Butcher Arena for reaching 1,000 points scored in his career.

Wittmer has 1,057 points, and is the 13th players in boys history to the milestone for the Lions.

He currently ranks 10th all-time for the Lions, passing former teammate Bryant Ackerman who ended his Loogootee career after the 2011-2012 season with 1,026.

Wittmer set the mark during Loogootee's game against Lanesville at the Springs Valley Tournament in late December.

Brian Canada is the leading scorer in Loogootee boys history with 1,495 points. Canada graduated from Loogootee in 1972. Bill Nigg presently sits ninth on the list with 1,104 points.

Wittmer is also currently sixth in career rebounding for the Lions with 508.

Canada is also the leader in that category with 774. Kelly Hunt is fifth with 525.
