FRANCISCO — Dale Alan Hornby, 57, passed away suddenly Sunday at Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He is preceded in death by parents Virgil G. and Irene (Holder) Hornby, brothers David E. Hornby and Robert Holder, sister Janet Krieg. Dale is survived by his wife Sherry of 4 1/2 years; children, David Hornby of Loogootee and Jason Hornby of Francisco; stepchildren, Samuel Glover of Francisco and Melissa Kelsey of Washington; sisters, Mildred Weigle of Kentucky and Doris Kempa of Grandview; brothers, Kenneth and Harold Hornby of Lynnville; several nieces and nephews, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. Dale was currently a heavy equipment operator for Peabody Coal Co., previously for Old Ben Co. and Vigo Coal and also drove truck for Hornby Logging. He was a member of Pike Masonic Lodge No. 121 in Petersburg. Dale was an International Truck Collector and loved auctions. He was a member of St. Matthew Church in Lynnville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m (CST), Thursday at Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (CST) and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Veale Creek Cemetery, Washington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
