  • VIDEO: Area police get training behind the wheel
    Washington Times-Herald photographer Kelly Overton videos a training exercise for Washington Police and other police agencies around the area. Officers are required to train for two hours on the Emergency Vehicle Operating Course at least once a year. This training took place at Washington's Gwaltney Sports Complex.

    Barr-Reeve Lady Vikings' ended the volleyball season at the State Finals on Saturday in Muncie, where they lost to Marquette Central Catholic. The Vikings were able to take Game 1, but lost the next three to the Warriors.

    The United Way of Daviess County began its annual campaign with a successful Day of Caring service day Tuesday. After the 22 United Way agencies submitted their work needs, the United Way distributed the work to the volunteers, local company employees, townspeople and students. King and Queen were Beau Gregory, son of Teresa Gregory and Stacey Gregory; Devan Bullock, daughter of Bryan and Karen Bullock. Prince was Shea Norris, son of Travis and Sally Graber and Princess was Terrell Miller, son of Craig and Jamie Miller.

  • The Promise — A Slideshow
    The Promise opened in its 10th year in Washington on Tuesday. More than 150 cast and crew help tell the story of Jesus, his life on earth and death on the cross. Washington Times-Herald photographer Kelly Overton and Editor Melody Brunson caught some of the scenes on camera. Singing "Arise" in the background is Mike Gregory. The show continues Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. at Antioch Christian Church, U.S. 50E, and also on Saturday at 3 p.m. Tickets were free, but pre-distributed, but everyone is welcome.
