Sgt. Phillips laid to rest — A Slideshow

LOOGOOTEE — Sgt. Virgil Lee Phillips, a forgotten soldier in a forgotten war, finally came home Friday and was laid to rest in Goodwill Cemetery.
Phillips, a member of K Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment of the 1st Cavalry Division, had been missing in action since Nov. 1, 1950, in the Korean War. His remains were found by the North Koreans and later identified by the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command earlier this year.
