He will also serve on the Martin County Redevelopment Commission and the Solid Waste Board.

Mike Dant was appointed to serve another year as commissioner president, and Kevin Boyd was elected as vice president. The two will also serve on the Solid Waste Board and Redevelopment Commission. Boyd was also nominated to serve on the Four Rivers Board.

The commissioners also appointed Paul E. “Gene” Shaw to the Alcoholic Beverage Board; Eugene Wilcoxen as Veterans Service Officer; Judy Walker to the Board of Health; Monty Wolf and Andy Ringwald to the Local Emergency Management and Civil Defense board; Shaw and Don Bowling to the Redevelopment Commission; and Gene Sherfick to the Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals. Dave Lett will return as county attorney, Darrell Courtright as county highway superintendent and John Jones as courthouse custodian.
