LOOGOOTEE — Florence E. Van Hoy, 93, died at 6:20 a.m. Monday at Loogootee Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 27, 1915, in San Diego, Calif., she was the daughter of Frank and Edith Carr.
She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. A homemaker, she was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and St. Vincent DePaul Society in Loogootee.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Stewart of Washington; two sons, Paul D. Van Hoy of Evansville, and Leo Van Hoy of Palm Harbor, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Charles L. Van Hoy, is deceased. One son, Michael Van Hoy; one brother, Paul Carr; and two sisters, Mariam Wright and Frances Sellers, are also deceased.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, Loogootee. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brocksmith Funeral Home, Loogootee, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to Loogootee Nursing Center or Helping Hand Hospice.
