Born Aug. 24, 1917, in Morgan County, Ill., she was the daughter of James A. and Lillie “Mae” (Lyel) Miller.

Ruby Fordyce, 91, of Washington, died at 9:07 p.m. at Washington Nursing Center.

Born Aug. 24, 1917, in Morgan County, Ill., she was the daughter of James A. and Lillie “Mae” (Lyel) Miller.

She attended Concord, Ill., schools and was a member of the Concord Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Walter A. and Mary Kay Miller of Washington; five grandchildren, Michael Miller of Washington, Rick Miller of Texas, Lisa Duncan of Evansville, Karen Miller of Chicago, and Cathy Hill of Washington; seven great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Delbert Fordyce, whom she married March 2, 1940, died Oct. 16, 1977. One brother, Roy Miller, and three sisters, Lucille Engle, Opal Matthews and Beulah McDonald, are also deceased.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with Pastor Phil Kessen and Rev. Lowell Will officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
