Born Aug. 20, 1920, in Daviess County, he was the son of Tullus Rolla and Ruby Ann (Atchison) Moore.

MONTGOMERY — Russell Tullus Moore, 88, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday at his residence.
Born Aug. 20, 1920, in Daviess County, he was the son of Tullus Rolla and Ruby Ann (Atchison) Moore.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a freight agent and dispatcher for B & O Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Church of Christ in Washington, American Legion Post 126, Veterans of Foreign War Post 3321, Order of Railroad Telegraphers and was a Boy Scout Leader for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean (Phillips) Moore; daughters, Kim (Claudia) Murray and Marjorie Ann Moore Carrico, both of Washington; sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight D. and Bonnie Moore of Washington and Charles E. and Nerissa Moore of Rising Sun; grandchildren, Lisa and Brian Edwards, Terry and Melissa Murray, Jimmy Carrico, Alicia and Christopher Riester, Joshua and Katie Moore, Tamara and Nathan Rieman, Brayton Moore, Tyrell Moore, Melissa and Richard Yoder and Billy Joe Roberts Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Moore of Montgomery.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Louise Spalding and Chlois Moore, and a brother, John Robert Moore.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Bros. Raymond Harris and David Harden officiating. Entombment will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with military graveside rites by the American Legion and V.F.W.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Daviess County Hospice.
