Published July 21, 2008 03:59 pm - Robert E. Reddick, 81, of Washington, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his residence.
Born June 14, 1927, in Daviess County, he was the son of Clyde D. and Mary Ellen (Sturgeon) Reddick.

Robert E. Reddick, 81, of Washington, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his residence.

Born June 14, 1927, in Daviess County, he was the son of Clyde D. and Mary Ellen (Sturgeon) Reddick.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was an electrical worker for 46 years, retiring in 1997 having worked at Connon Electric. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Vicki Riester of Washington; two sons, Steve C. Reddick of Washington and Douglas Reddick of Sun City, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Miller, Shirley Miller and Louella Allison, all of Indianapolis, and Barbara Drumm of Long Beach, Calif.; and brothers, Charles Reddick of Washington and Joseph E. Reddick of Fishers.

His wife, Doris Faye Reddick, whom he married Nov. 9, 1946, died Feb. 13, 2003. Nine sisters, Geneva Reddick, Velma Johnson, Wilma Soloman, Donna Sinclair, Louise Heffleman, Florence Williams, Jackie Dalby, Betty Carey and one infant sister and one infant brother, are also deceased.

Services will be held at a later date following cremation. Arrangements are being made through Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes Association.
