LOOGOOTEE — Joseph Lukomski Sr., 83, died at 3:55 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes.

Born Feb. 6, 1925, in Hamtramck, Mich., he was the son of Walter and Rose (Malwzeky) Lukomski.

He was a retired U.S. Army veteran and retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane as a supply technician. He was a member of the Disabled American Vets.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Jones) Lukomski, whom he married April 7, 1950; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Marsha Lukomski of Loogootee; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gary Sharp of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Irene Samolej of Richmond, Mich.; three grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Lukomski, Timothy James Lukomski and Kelli Lynn Lukomski Mathies; and three great-grandchildren, Madeline Grace, Samuel Joseph and Lilian Rose Lukomski.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and seven sisters.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brocksmith Funeral Home, Loogootee. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion and V.F. W.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
