PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Robert F. “Bob” Wichmann, formerly of Greencastle and Washington, passed away Saturday.

He was born in Lafayette Oct. 26, 1923, to Fred and Emma (Habben) Wichmann.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Lucille Hutcheson, whom he married July 21, 1945; a daughter, Jane (Michael) Tumey; grandsons, M. Christopher Tumey and Scott J. Tumey; a brother, Paul Wichmann; and a sister, Ruth Brooke.

He is preceded by his parents; a brother, Everett Wichmann; sisters, Dorothy Merley, Irene Phillips and Phyliss White.

Visitation will be Oct. 25, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. at Brick Chapel Church in Putnam County.

Arrangements were made in Port Charlotte, Fla.
