Published August 18, 2008 04:07 pm - DOVER HILL — Jacqueline Louise Sims, 79, died at 2 a.m. Sunday at her residence. Born Feb. 12, 1929, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Glenn and Pearl (Cundiff) Gaither.

DOVER HILL — Jacqueline Louise Sims, 79, died at 2 a.m. Sunday at her residence.
Born Feb. 12, 1929, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Glenn and Pearl (Cundiff) Gaither.
She was a homemaker and member of The Rock Church in Dover Hill.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Charlene Sims of Shoals, Steve and Norma Jean Sims of Odon, and Merrill Sims of Columbus, Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ron Johnson of Evansville, and Betty and Larry Downs of Shoals; one brother, John Gaither of Shoals; one sister, Esther Brock of Williams; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Meredith Lowell Sims, whom she married Dec. 1, 1943, died Aug. 6, 2006. Her parents; one daughter, Janet Anne Sims; one sister, Helen Tincher; one brother, David Gaither; and two daughters-in-law, Opha Sims and Christine Sims, are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Queen-Lee Funeral Home, Shoals. Burial will be in Trinity Springs Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
