Born Aug. 20, 1926, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Raymond and Marie (Summitt) Wininger.

Doris Eleanor Clark, 83, of Washington, died at 8:35 a.m. Friday at her residence.

Born Aug. 20, 1926, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Raymond and Marie (Summitt) Wininger.

She attended Longfellow School and was a graduate of Washington High School. A homemaker, she had also worked at The Stitching Post. She was a member of First Church of God and Christian Women’s Club.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Richard Gifford of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Chris Clark and Darrell and Kimberly Clark, all of Washington; grandchildren, Jeffrey Gifford, Brandon Clark, Jeana Duimstra, Chelsea Clark, James Gifford and Ethan Clark; great-grandchildren, Madison Gifford, Logan Gifford, Jayden Gifford, Emma and Bella Duimstra, Lincoln and Annalise Gifford and Lane Clark; and two sisters, Wanda Smith of Missouri and Marilyn Johnson of Florida.

Her husband, Edward Albertus “Bud” Clark, whom she married Oct. 24, 1947, died Jan. 13, 2006. Two grandchildren, April and Garrett Clark, are also deceased.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gill Chapel, with Rev. Bill Pentacost officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to First Church of God.
