Gertrude Garland (Bauer) Riker, 86, of Washington, died at 7:48 p.m. Sunday at Daviess Community Hospital.
Born Aug. 28, 1923, in Portersville, she was the daughter of Christian and Gertrude (Garland) Bauer.
She was a member of the Alfordsville Christian Church and an avid quilter. She had retired from Indiana Desk Company in Jasper.
She is survived by four sons, H. Eugene Riker of Linton, Delbert Riker and Wilbur Riker, both of Washington, and Carl Riker of Canton, Ga.; one brother, Clifford “Tip” Bauer of Kokomo; three sisters, Nora (Bauer) Williams of Evansville, Ferne (Bauer) Seymour of Pomona, Calif., and Christina (Bauer) Jackman of Washington; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Mae Kieffner, Sue Adams, Anneta Potts, Vonda McCain and Verda Bauer; five brothers, Raymond, Clarence “Wilfred,” Franklin, Bill and Richard “Bud” Bauer; and two granddaughters, Barbara Riker and Stephaine Barber.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brocksmith-Blake and Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery in Alfordsville.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
