LOOGOOTEE — Phyllis D. Williams, 73, passed away Friday morning at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 30, 1940, in Washington, she was the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Robbins) Shelton. She was a graduate of Alfordsville High School and had worked as a waitress at the Cabin Restaurant. She was a member of the Alfordsville Christian Church and loved quilting and flea marketing.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, LaRita and Greg Taylor of Loogootee; a son, Roger Williams of Loogootee; three granddaughters, Brittney Taylor and Haley Taylor, both of Loogootee, and Michelle Sherfick of Shoals; and two great-grandchildren, Brennan Sherfick and Adira Sherfick, both of Shoals.
Her husband, Virgil “Pat” Williams, whom she married May 28, 1961, died Nov. 14, 2011.
She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Cox and Frances Yokem; and three brothers, Wayne Shelton, Raymond Shelton and Clarence Shelton.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Alfordsville Christian Church, with Bro. Ed Frost and Steve Remmel officiating. Burial will be in Alfordsville Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ed Lee Mortuary and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
