Abraham Wagler

Sept. 23, 1917 - March 2, 2014

MONTGOMERY — Abraham Wagler, 96, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday at his residence.

He was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Daviess County, the son of Victor and Anna (Kemp) Wagler

He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

He married Elizabeth (Wagler) Wagler Oct. 2, 1938, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 1976. On April 4, 1978, he married his second wife, Amanda (Graber) Wagler, and she survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Rita Ilene) Wittmer of Odon, and Mrs. Wayne (Anna Mae) Sweet of Sarasota, Fla.; four sons, Roy and wife Ida Wagler of Loogootee, Larry Lee and wife Rachel Wagler of Cannelburg, Gary William and wife Karen Wagler of Plainfield, and Darvin Eugene and wife Darla Wagler of Loogootee; one brother, Herbert Wagler of Odon; and a daughter-in-law, Lydia Wagler of Odon.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Elizabeth (Wagler) Wagler; two sons, Ernest Dewayne Wagler and Delbert Ray Wagler; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Delbert (Mary Beth) Wagler; and a son-in-law, Wayne Sweet.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Produce Building in Montgomery. Burial will follow in Wagler Cemetery.

Visitation will be until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Produce Building.

Arrangements are being made through Brocksmith-Blake and Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery.
