---- — LOOGOOTEE — Joyce Louise Smith, 84, died at noon Thursday at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.
Born Oct. 9, 1929, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Michael Eugene and Mary Genevieve (Greenwell) Bullock.
Joyce was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee and was active in St. Vincent DePaul Society. She retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane.
She is survived by two sons, Lee and Gerri Smith of West Point, Ind., and Tony and Sherri Smith of Loogootee; three daughters, Becky and Tim Mosbey of Chandler, Susie and Frank Tylek of Brownsburg, and Cathy Emmons of Zionsville; one brother, Jerry and Mary Jane Bullock of Lafayette; four sisters, Rita Giesler of Lafayette, Linda and Jimmy Kidwell of Kissimmee, Fla., Martha and Glen Fitzmorris of Dayton, and Cathy and Butch Corbin of West Point; 12 grandchildren, Steve Smith Jr., Wendy Reynoso, Alan Smith, Jonell Bundy, Kevin Mosbey, Jennifer Luff, Allison Tylek, Ashley Tylek, Erica Tompkins, Wyatt Smith, Andy Emmons and Joey Emmons; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Hubert L. Smith, died in 2009. Her parents; one son, Stephen Michael Smith; and one brother, Tom Bullock, are also deceased.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. Monday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
