---- — Barbara Jean (Mitchell) Longest, 82, of Washington, died at 11:32 p.m. Thursday at Prairie Village Living Center.
Born Dec. 11, 1931, in Lansing, Mich., she was the daughter of Harold Arthur and Mildred May (Blyth) Mitchell.
She was a 1950 graduate of J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing. She had been an administrator for Patoka Glass and enjoyed sewing, quilting and weaving. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church.
She is survived by three sons, Guy E. Longest of Greenville, Mich., Harold A. Longest of Washington, and William E. Longest of Kenyon, Minn.; sisters, Pat Servick and Judy Powell, both of Michigan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William Eugene Longest, whom she married Sept. 16, 1953, died Dec. 11, 2008. Her parents; a sister, Joyce Matthies; and a brother, Jerry Mitchell, are also deceased.
Private services will be held in the spring.
