INDIANAPOLIS — George W. “Bill” Lashley, 91, went to be with the Lord on Saturday.
George was a truck driver for Penn Truck Lines, Nice-Pak and was even self-employed as a truck driver at one time. George served in the U.S. Army during World War II and attended the Wesleyan Holiness Church.
He is survived by his children, Teresa (Brian) Tarter, Jerry and Randall “Joe” Lashley; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Alfrey, Mary Ferree, Sharon Williams, and brothers, Carl and Roy Lashley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Olive (Nash) Lashley and his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Ruth (Evans) Lashley.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur, Indianapolis, with visitation there Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
