Elliott Dant

June 5, 1989 - Dec. 27, 2013

Elliott Warren Dant, 24, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly from an enlarged heart Friday at Daviess Community Hospital. Born June 5, 1989, in Washington, he was the son of Jennifer Leonard (Dant). As an infant, he was baptized at Wesley United Methodist Church, where he attended with his family as a child. He attended Washington High School, Vincennes University, and Ivy Tech.

Elliott leaves behind his mother, Jennifer Leonard; sisters Taylor Danielle Leigh of Terre Haute; father figure and friend, Sean Klingle; family dog, Oliver; goddaughters, Annie and Aspen Hinderliter; several cousins; and a very special group of close friends, too many to mention.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, his mom’s home cooking, a nice cold glass of chocolate milk, hanging out with his friends, riding motorcycles and traveling. His favorite family vacation was in Aruba in 2005, with his “sis” and his mom. He had a smile for everyone, loved to make every woman feel beautiful, and every man jealous, children were drawn to his fun and playful personality. He enjoyed spending time with his young cousin and “little buddy” Zane Leonard. He loved to joke around and make people laugh, and was always trying to pull off a good prank. He had a cologne collection beyond ridiculous and always bragged, “Ya gotta admit, for a fat kid, I smell pretty darn good.” Elliott liked tattoos and had several that all represented a special memory or life motto. He touched several lives with his fun-loving attitude, was loyal to his family, and his bro code. He was very outspoken, never met a stranger, and could make the sun shine during the worst storm. Raised by a single mother, he had a very special bond with his mom, often referring to her as his best friend and hero. He was a protective son and brother, and leaves this earth entrusting this position to his brothers. He was loved by many and his memory will live on in all who knew him. Elliott would ask for no sadness of his passing but rather a celebration of his life.

Elliott was preceded in death by his Mammy and Pappy, Clyde (Jr) and Wilma Leonard; and special uncle, Scott Leonard.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Gill Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be Friday at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home. Sign the online guestbook at www.gillsince1872.com
