Frank Harper

VINCENNES — Frank V. Harper, 100, formerly of Westphalia, passed away Tuesday at Foxridge Manor. Frank was born Sept. 8, 1912, in Odon, the son of Oscar and Bertha (Kelsey) Harper. He married Leona Dyer on Nov. 27, 1931, and she passed in 2008. He worked for the Edwardsport Power Plant for 59 years. He was a member of the Edwardsport Baptist Church, Edwardsport Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite in Evansville. Frank is survived by his son, Dr. Ronnie Harper of Surprise, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Van Harper of Vincennes, Lori Mazalin of Melbourne, Australia, Ricky Harper, Linda Levi, Ladeana Dyer, all of Indianapolis; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob Harper, Brandi Porter, Kaley Decker, all of Vincennes, Ryan Everhart, Justin Everhart, and Steven Alexander, all of Indianapolis; one great-great grandson, Wesley Everhart, of Indianapolis. He is preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Leona; and his son Richard Harper. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Edwardsport Baptist Church, with Pastor John Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Sandborn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel.
