RICHLAND, Wash. — Ruth V. Singleton, 100, formerly of Evansville, passed away Nov. 29 at Emeritus at Richland Gardens. She was born June 26, 1912, in Washington, to the late Ezra Joshua and Martha Caroline (Johnson) Vance. Ruth was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1930, and the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Indianapolis, Class of 1933. She married Albert Wallace Singleton on Aug. 10, 1936, and they were founding member of Methodist Temple UMC in Evansville. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, Clell McDaniel, and sisters, Anna Stafford, Norma Stuckey and Lois Blann. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne McPherson; sons, Ken, Mark, Keith and Kurt Singleton; six grandchildren, and a sister, Caroline Armes of Washington. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Alexander East Chapel, Evansville, officiated by Rev. Dean Stuckey, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
