VINCENNES — Betty Lou Atchley, 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was a friend to everyone she knew, an animal lover and loved playing cards with her friends. Betty was also able to help people by being a donor to Indiana Organ Donors.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Susie Shelton, her husband Morris Eugene Atchley, her son Timothy Ryan Atchley and her brother Charles Shelton.
She is survived by her sons Dennis Atchley and daughter-in-law Dawn Metz Atchley of Roscoe, Ill., and Kevin Atchley of Indianapolis; daughter Tamara Atchley Blackwell and son-in-law Timothy Stuart Blackwell of Indianapolis; her grandchildren, Jennifer Atchley Silver of Gilbert, S.C., Tasha Atchley of Rockford, Kyle Atchley of Indianapolis, Tyler Atchley of Rockford, Jake Blackwell of Indianapolis, Kalissa Atchley of Indianapolis, and Bobby Blackwell of Indianapolis; and her four great-grandchildren, Addison and Jase Silver, Liam McFadden and Ella Mae Atchley. Also, her three cats Dart, Miss Kitty and Spot.
Graveside services will be held at 11 p.m. Saturday at Walnut Hill Cemetery, 3/4 mile north of Odon, on CR 900E. If you cannot make the service, please feel free to stop by Betty’s house to visit with the family and friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
