---- — Corenna Mae Strickland, 92, of Washington, died at 3:35 a.m. Thursday at The Village of Hamilton Pointe, Evansville.
Born Oct. 25, 1921, in Edwardsport, she was the daughter of George and Nellie (French) Wilson.
A 1940 graduate of Edwardsport High School, she also graduated from Vincennes University School of Nursing. She retired as a registered nurse after 35 years at Daviess County Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, LaDonna (James) Bonn, and Desiree (Dennis) Probus; a son, Robert (Mary) Strickland; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, John H. Strickland, whom she married Sept. 2, 1942, died Dec. 16, 1990. One daughter, Joneen Robinson, and one great-grandson, Kyle Reid, are also deceased.
The funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday at Gill Funeral Home, with Tim Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Edwardsport Town Cemetery.
Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
