Jimmie Luebke

MONTGOMERY — Jimmie Sue Luebke, 84, died Saturday at Hillside Manor Nursing Home, Washington.

Born April 4, 1929, in Florence, Ala., she was the daughter of George Mackey and Bessie Miller.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her garden planting flowers and vegetables, cooking and baking and embroidering. Also she was an Indianapolis Colts and Pacers fan.

She is survived by three daughters, Leia Lona and husband John Cathey of Jacksonville, Fla., Francelia Dillon of Washington and Cindy Granger of Vincennes; two sons, Barry and wife Mary Jane Luebke of Montgomery, and Joseph Luebke and partner Tom Wright of Washington, D.C.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dennis (Cece) Luebke of New Harmony; five sisters, Betty Jane Howard of Sebring, Fla., Charlene Wright of Birmingham, Ala., Jonella Prestridge of Florence, Ala., Feonia Lannan (who she raised) of Loogootee, and Marshall Ann Taylor of Florence; one brother, David Miller of Chicago, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Dennis Luebke.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brocksmith-Blake and Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery. Burial will be in St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Whitfield.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
