Orval McGillem Jr., 82, of Washington, died at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday at Hillside Manor.
Born Oct. 14, 1931, in Petersburg, he was the son of Cecelia (Grubb) and Orval McGillem Sr.
He was a 1950 graduate of Mt. Olympus High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was awarded the Army National Defense Service Medal. He had been a regional sales manager for Superior Steel Ball. He attended Antioch Christian Church and was a former member of Elks Lodge, VFW, Moose and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Lela Rose (Wollam) McGillem, whom he married June 3, 1951; three son, Ron McGillem (Cathy) of Newburgh, Kent McGillem (Diane) of Barrington, Ill., and Joe McGillem (Debbie) of Montgomery; and grandchildren, Kate, Jayne, Claire, Emily, Blake and Whitney McGillem, and Elyse Falzone.
He is preceded in death by seven brothers.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gill Funeral Home, with Rev. Daniel Sherar officiating. Private graveside services will be at Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
