Randy 'Boggie' Axe

---- — WINSLOW — Randy Dale "Boggie" Axe, 59, died Thursday at his home from a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 19, 1954, in Greene County, he was the son of Gayle E. "Freddie" and Opal "Jean" (Landis) Axe.

He was a member of Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church in Augusta, Ind., and he was a graduate of Swiss City High School. He was retired from the Gibson Generating Station in Mt. Carmel, Ill. Boggie enjoyed mowing yards, doing odd jobs for the elderly, playing bingo and the lottery and he also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University basketball.

He is survived by two daughters, Autumn Paige Axe and Daniell Davis, both of Winslow; one nephew, Rodney Axe of Gosport; three nieces, Regina Axe and Rayetta Axe, both of Jasonville, and Michelle Erard of Houston, Texas; and five grandchildren.

His wife, Debbie Jill (Mowery) Axe, whom he married Jan. 16, 1981, preceded him in death. Also deceased are his parents; three brothers, Gayle "Jim" Axe, Donald "Poodie" Axe and Gary Axe; two nephews, Jimmy Axe and Michael Boyll; and one niece, Victoria Axe.

The body of Randy Axe was cremated and there will be private graveside services conducted at a later date. Arrangements are being made through Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Online condolences may be made at
