BENTON, Ill. — Bonnie June King, 82, died Tuesday at Franklin Hospital in Benton.

Mrs. King was born on June 17, 1931, in Union County, Ky., the daughter of Maudie Franklin Day and Cynthia Ethel (Tapp) Day. She married Horace King on Sept. 14, 1949, and he survives.

Bonnie was a retired beautician and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Benton.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Horace King of Benton; two daughters, Yolanda Hill of Benton, and Kim (Dennis) Followell of Benton; three grandchildren, Nathan Hill of Benton, Matthew (Davee) Followell of Benton, and Allyson (Ryan) Kathalynas of West Frankfort, Ill.; two great-grandchildren, Kyler Followell and Alivia Kathalynas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. King is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Evelyn Neal, Dorothy Linxwiler, and Mildred Barnett; and five brothers, Aubrey, Georgie, Charles, Orval, and Thomas Day.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home and crematory in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Sammy Simmons officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church or Paralyzed Veterans of America and will be accepted at the funeral home. Visit to sign the memorial guestbook.
