---- — LOOGOOTEE — Louanna Catherine Rickard, 92, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday at Loogootee Nursing Center.

Born July 28, 1921, in Loogootee, she was the daughter of Henry and Emma (Jackle) Hoffman.

A member of Christ United Methodist Church, she was formerly employed in Omaha, Neb., during World War II in the manufacturing of parachutes. She also worked at Essic Wire in Zanesville, Ohio.

She is survived by two sisters, Marie Jones of Loogootee and Wilma Fuhrman of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, William W. Rickard, whom she married May 1, 1943, in the Kuntze Memorial Lutheran Church of Omaha, Neb., died May 23, 1999. Her parents; two brothers, Herbert and Fred Hoffman; and one sister, Freida Palmer, are also deceased.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gill Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Wells officiating. Burial will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
