Rose Seals

LOOGOOTEE — Rose Irene Seals, 91, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at Timbers of Jasper.

Born April 11, 1922, in Metcalf, Ky., she was the daughter of Henry and Sally (Syra) Dean.

She was a member of the Alfordsville Christian Church and had worked at Perfect Fit in Loogootee.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy and husband Loran Yarnell of Shoals, Darlene and husband Mark Christmas of Loogootee, and Sandy and husband Jim Isaacs of Loogootee; six sons, Don and wife Wilma of Loogootee, Chuck of Jasper, Rob of Jasper, Gordon and wife Marie of Loogootee, Larry of Loogootee; and Dennis and wife Cathy of Loogootee; one brother, Curtis and wife Helen Dean of Washington; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Wilson Seals, whom she married July 29, 1939, died in 2005. Her parents; one son, Kenneth Seals; one brother; Henry “Bud” Dean, four sisters, Rhode Mitchell, Myrtle Batman, May Cawthron and Matt Cawthron; two stepbrothers, Walter and Jack Rutledge; one daughter, Mary Holt; one daughter-in-law, Sherry Seals; and two grandchildren, Christopher Seals and Travis Christmas, are also deceased.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home, Loogootee. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
