Paul Vernon Wittmer

Sept. 9, 1933 – May 2, 2014

MONTGOMERY — Paul Vernon Wittmer, 80, died at 8:02 p.m. on Friday, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Daviess County, to Noah and Susan (Stoll) Wittmer.

On June 9, 1957, he married Ada (Knepp) Wittmer and she preceded him in death on June 3, 1965.

He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Montgomery, Ind.

She is survived by two sons and three daughters: Marvin Wittmer of Montgomery;  Darrell and wife Stacy Wittmer of Washington; Martha Wittmer, Mrs. Richard L. (Mary) Lengacher, and Mrs. Francis G. (Barbara) Graber, all of Montgomery. One brother, Leo Raymond Wittmer, of Montgomery, also survives.

Eleven grandchildren survive, including: Rachel, Logan and Trevor Lengacher; Ada, Laban, Andrea, Jalon and Kameron Graber; and Treyton, Grant and Dirk Wittmer.

He was also preceded in death, three brothers, Ralph, Monroe and Roy Wittmer; three sisters, Mary Margaret Wittmer,  Anna Barbara Wagler, and Rachel Wittmer, two sisters-in-law, Esther and Anna Wittmer, and one brother-in-law, Wilmer Wagler

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, at the First Mennonite Church, Montgomery, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the First Mennonite Church.

Brocksmith-Blake & Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.
