---- — BEDFORD — Delmar L. Evans Sr., 83, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Monday at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford.
He was born in Washington on Jan. 20, 1930, to Albert Evans and Martha (Russell) Evans.
Delmar was an Army veteran and a retired farmer and mechanic.
He is survived by three children, Pamela Wampler and husband Ron of Bloomington, Daniel Evans of Bloomington, and Delmar Evans Jr. and wife Janene of Terre Haute, and a stepdaughter, Karen Owen and husband Danny. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Deidre Evans, Belinda Freeman and husband Jonathan, Ryan Evans, and Matthew Evans, and stepgrandchildren, David Owen and wife Lisa, Chuck Owen and wife Amanda, and Courtney Owen. Other survivors include his great-grandchildren, Darren Suits, Walter Howell Jr., Devan Freeman, and Elyse Freeman; and two sisters, Wilma Dixon of Brush, Colo., and Margie Bateman of Washington.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Wilma Jean Evans; and siblings William R. Evans, Giles Evans, Floyd Evans, Pete Evans, Clarence Evans, Alma Evans, Ruth Lashley, Clara Evans, and Lillian Jacobs.
