VINCENNES — Joseph V. Healy, 80, passed away Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes. Joe was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Bogard Township, Daviess County, the son of Hugh and Margaret (Brown) Healy. Joe graduated from Montgomery High School in 1950. He married Freda Self, and she survives him. He retired in 1989 as a manager for Ameritech. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He also served in the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War. Joe is survived by his wife of 30 years, Freda; daughter Connie Roberts of Bloomington; son Frank Healy and his wife Mhay of Bloomington; grandchildren Jennifer Roberts (Joe Bowman), Claire Healy, and Christopher Healy; brother John Healy of Washington; sisters Betty Henline of Riverview, Fla., Mary Jo Miller of West Lafayette, and Margaret Craney and her husband Jack of Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Robert Healy, Leo Healy and Donald Healy. Per Joe’s request, he will be cremated. Private services will be held at a later date.
