Wilford 'Bud' Buhr

---- — Wilford “Bud” Buhr, 83, passed away at 5:29 p.m. Saturday at Washington Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 31, 1929, in Washington, he was the son of Lawrence and Eathel (Workman) Buhr.

He was a 1948 graduate of Loogootee High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He owned and operated Standard Oil Bulk Plant for 25 years and sold Agra Gold seed corn for over 25 years. He was a member of Bethel South United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna (Darrel) Webster of Washington, and Glenda Robinson of Owensboro, Ky.; two sons, Larry (Brenda) Buhr of Washington, and Terry (Lynn) Buhr of Evansville; one sister, Susie (Klingle) Baxter of Dubois; six grandchildren; and 16 grandchildren.

His wife, Clara E. (Frye) Buhr, whom he married Dec. 26, 1948, died March 12, 2010. He is also preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel North United Methodist Church.

There will be no visitation.
