LOOGOOTEE — Hazel M. Gregory, 87, died at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. Charles Health Care in Jasper. Born July 17, 1925, in Ireland, Ind., she was the daughter of Russel and Jewel (McCain) Murry. She was a 1942 graduate of Ireland High School and attended Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee. Hazel was co-owner of Gregory Farms and during World War II she worked at Inland Steel in Gary. Hazel enjoyed gardening, square dancing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Brad Gregory of Boston, Mass., Bryan and wife Maureen Gregory of Santa Claus, and Dan and wife Barbara Gregory of Loogootee; one brother, Robert Murry of Ireland; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, Joseph C. Gregory, whom she married Nov. 8, 1945, died Jan. 31, 2002. Her parents and two sisters, Jeanie Wagner and Helen Murry, are also deceased. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will be in Lemmon Cemetery in Boone Township in Dubois County. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Martin County Community Foundation.
