WASHINGTON — Dottie Murphy, 74, of Washington, passed away at 1:25 a.m. Monday at her residence.
Born March 9, 1939, in Washington, she was the daughter of Bernard and Rosa D. (Colbert) Cosgrove.
A graduate of Washington Catholic High School, she was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Murphy, whom she married in February 1964; two daughters, Kim Steidel of Terre Haute and Tonya Hamm of Washington; two sons, Ron (Tanya Lynn) Murphy of Terre Haute, and Alan Murphy of Washington; one sister, Joyce Potts of Chicago; one brother, Thomas Cosgrove of St. Louis, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Donna Clark; and two brothers, Bernard Cosgrove Jr. and Fred Cosgrove.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Rev. Leo Kiesel as celebrant. Burial was in St. John Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, Logan Hamm, Tanner Hamm, Madison Murphy, Parker Murphy, Montana Murphy, Delaney Steidel, Kassidy Steidel, Ethan Fields and Evan Fields. Pallbearers were Thomas Cosgrove, Michael Cosgrove, Ron Murphy, Alan Murphy, Tanner Hamm and William Fredrickson.
