FERDINAND — Diane Marie Wuensch, 53, formerly of Loogootee, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday in Loogootee. Born Jan. 6, 1960, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Thomas L. and Mariann (Bindner) Wuensch. A 1978 graduate of Loogootee High School, she was also a 1982 graduate of Indiana State University-Evansville. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. She was a devoted daughter, loved her dog “DaBear,” and was an avid Chicago Bears football fan, enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with her family. She was the Martin County Probation Officer from 1984 to 1991. In 1991 she moved to Warsaw, Ind., and worked as the director of the juvenile shelter. In 2002 she moved back to southern Indiana where she has been working as a client representative at Southern Hills Counseling Center in Jasper. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Don and Mariann Wininger of Loogootee; three brothers, David and wife Sherry Wuensch of Savannah, Texas, Lee and wife Rosie Wininger and David and wife Lori Wininger, all of Loogootee; two sisters, Beth and husband Nick Walenga of Warsaw and Lynn and husband Gary Hartman of Russiaville; and 12 nieces and nephews, Heather, Ryan, David, Brandon, Allison and Brianna Wuensch; Kyle, Ryan and Lindsay Wininger; Kelly Woods; Kristy Hartman and Mikel Hartman. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas L. Wuensch; one infant brother, John Wuensch; and one nephew, Aaron Wuensch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Online condolences may be made at
