Paul William “Smiley” DeMoss

ELNORA — Paul William “Smiley” DeMoss, 79, died at 1:47 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Born July 10, 1934, he was the son of William Paul and Emma C. (Phillips) DeMoss.

A graduate of Elnora High School, he was an Army veteran and 53-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 678.

He retired from McCord’s and Perdue in 2000.

Surviving him are his wife Virgina Lee (Sullivan) DeMoss, who he married on June 4, 1955; two sons, Rick and Frank (Judy) DeMoss, all of Elnora; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Darwin DeMoss, and his parents.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Gill Chapel, Pastors Rex Thomas and Chris Coney officiating. Interment will be in Plainville Cemetery with military rites.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
