WASHINGTON — James E. “Jim” Miller, 69, of Washington, died at 5:33 a.m. Saturday at Daviess Community Hospital. Born Aug. 7, 1943, in Las Vegas, Nev., the son of Frank Vincent and Allie Catherine (Titus) Miller. A 1961 graduate of Fargo Central High School of North Dakota, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a laborer in the metal refining industry, retiring from High Performance Systems in Winter Haven, Fla. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church. He enjoyed bowling and NASCAR racing. He is survived by his loving wife, Dixie L. (Brady) Barnes Miller, whom he married Dec. 15, 2006; a son, David Miller of Webster, Texas; a stepson, Jason (Jennifer) Barnes; a stepdaughter, Andrea (David) Martin; and stepgrandchildren, Robert Barnes, Megan Barnes, Isaac Martin, Aaron Martin and Levi Martin. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Christian Church, with Pastor Matt Merrold officiating. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
