Eleanor L. Sturgeon, 90, of Washington, died at 8:27 p.m. Sunday at Daviess Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 5, 1923, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Arnold Jabez and Gertrude (Jones) Jones.
She was the owner of Highland House Draperies for 25 years. She was a former member of Tri Kappa and the Garden Club. A member of Central Christian Church, she was a cook at many church dinners. She was a former real estate salesperson and she and her husband had a house of ministry for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Sturgeon; daughters, Janice and husband Patrick Kopanski of Fairfax, Va., Kim (Boyd) and husband Norm Meulenberg of Powell, Ohio, and Amy and husband Michael Kelleher of Potomac, Md.; grandchildren, Cathy Gress, Jason and Stephanie Gress, Matthew and Laura Boyd, Ann Boyd, Joe and Jill Kelleher, Matt Kelleher and Katie Kelleher; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Eleanor and Seth; sisters, Ina Helphenstine of Winter Garden, Fla., Marilyn Hurt of Chicago, Ill., and Deanna Powers of Vincennes.
She is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Rev. Jim Payton officiating.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
