Edna Jackson

LOOGOOTEE – Edna G. Jackson, 87, went to be with her Lord at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday.She was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Loogootee, where she lived on the same corner all her life. She was one of 14 children born to D.E. and Edna (Robinson) Bruner. She attended Loogootee High School and was a member of the Loogootee United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir for 70 years. She was the Grand Marshal for the 2013 Loogootee Summer Fest, she was a member of the Friendly Four Gospel Quartet, Marco Singers, Joyful Noises, Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, Quilting Ladies and was a former Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls. She also coached little league baseball with her late husband and was an avid Loogootee Lions basketball fan.She is survived by one son, Edward Neal and wife Marion Jackson of Loogootee; three daughters, Karen and husband Robert Enlow, Renee and husband James Grace, all of Loogootee, and Joy and husband David Stien of Bloomington; two brothers, Paul Bruner of Loogootee and Gerald Bruner of Georgia; two sisters, Mary Webster of Oregon and Audrey McNaughton of Michigan; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.Her husband, Johnie Neal Jackson, whom she married April 10, 1943, died Feb. 4, 2006. Her parents; two sisters; Esther Bruner and Aline Darbett; seven brothers, Clarence, Harold, Harlin, Orvil, Charles, Donald and D.E. Bruner Jr.; and one stepgrandson, Robert Enlow, are also deceased.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Loogootee United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee.Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Loogootee United Methodist Church and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday.Arrangements are being made through Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
