WINSLOW - Ronnie C. Demotte, 63, passed away Thursday. He was born April 13, 1951 to Marion and Joyce Demotte. He attended Winslow High School and Purdue University. He was the owner/broker of Demotte Realty in Winslow and had served the Pike County area since 1978. He was an active member of the Kiwanis, trustee of Patoka Township fire district, and served on the board of Charity Farms in Winslow. Ronnie was also an avid beekeeper. He was a naturalist, loved the outdoors, and mentored many on his love for nature and all things associated with it. Over his life, he had a positive influence on many children, numerous friends and acquaintances. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Marion Demotte. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Joyce and Robert Arthur, of Petersburg, a daughter Calla Ruth Demotte of Nashville, Tennessee, a brother Gary (Jane) Demotte of Evansville, nieces Amy (Scott) Feldmeir of Louisville, Kim (Joe) Robinson of Oakland City, nephew Eric (Joanna) Demotte of Newburgh, and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg.
