---- — ODON — Alden Ray Sims, 75, passed away at 10:32 p.m. Thursday at Daviess Community Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1938, in Odon, he was the son of John Alden and Geneva (Chestnut) Sims.
He retired as a supervisor from Gemtron in Vincennes. Before that he worked at McCords, Department of Agriculture and USDA. He was currently the manager of the Pines Apartments. He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and riding his four-wheeler around his farm. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Carolyn J. (McBride) Sims, whom he married July 18, 1959; a daughter, Diana Bradley (Robert); a son, Alan Sims (Cindy); three grandchildren, Alan Jordan Sims (Ashley), Kody Sims, and Matthew Bradley; and one sister, Leona Boyd (Howard).
He is preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Melisa Sims.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Antioch Christian Church, with Pastor Charles Grubbs officiating. Entombment will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
