ALFORDSVILLE — Robert L. Monts, 85, passed away Thursday. He was born May 2, 1928, in Washington, to Theodore A. and Mary Ellen (Sellers) Monts. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War as an airplane mechanic and went on to own his own automotive repair shop in Washington, D.C. Upon his retirement, he and his wife were antique dealers. Roberts was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and served as an elder for many years. He is survived by his son, Stephen Monts and daughter-in-law, Maria; his daughter, Mary Bullock and son-in-law Paul, with their children Samantha, Matthew and Zachary. He is preceded in death by his wife, Christine (Huey) Monts; two brothers, Arthur and Moncel Monts; and two sisters, Ruth Graff and Sarah Johnson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Gill Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow at Antioch Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.gillsince1872.com
