LOOGOOTEE — Daisy Mae Canady, 75, died at 7:40 a.m. Thursday at her home.
Born April 2, 1938, in Odon, she was the daughter of Alvin O. and Dovie (Franklin) Harper.
She was a 1956 graduate of Odon High School and was retired from Kimball Electronics in Jasper. Daisy enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling, playing video games and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Jr. Canady, whom she married July 4, 1957; two sons, Clarence R. Canady of Columbus, and Kelvin and wife Patricia Canady of Loogootee; four brothers, Rex Harper of Gary, Bill Harper of Bedford, John Harper and Charles Harper, both of Bloomington; seven sisters, Leveda Clark of Washington, Janice Ridenbark of Bloomington, Violet Cox of Odon, Ruth Bateman of Loogootee, Diane Bugher of Sandborn, Brenda Bays of Evansville, and Sharon Wright of Sandborn; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Hazel Noblitt; and one brother, Bruce Harper.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery in Odon.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
