---- — MOORESVILLE, N.C. — James O. Britt, 84, died Monday at his home.
Born Feb. 18, 1929, in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of James and Emily (Myers) Britt.
He was a graduate of Tech High School in Indianapolis and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired after 31 years of service from Amstead Industries in Indianapolis. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed photography.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Heath) Britt of Bowling Green, Ky.; two daughters, Kathy Carver of Mooresville, N.C., and Karen Mills of New Palestine; and four grandchildren, Shannon and Erin Riley and Shawn and Kevin Mills.
His first wife and the mother of his children, Lois (Seals) Britt, who was from Loogootee, died in 1968. His parents and one brother, Robert Britt, are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund.
