---- — CORNING — Margie Colvin, 81, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 28, 1931, in Montgomery, she was the daughter of Michael L. and Mary E. (Grannan) Doyle.
A 1949 graduate of Montgomery High School, she was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved gardening, canning and cooking. She was awarded the Brute Award from the Catholic Diocese of Evansville.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Colvin Jr., whom she married July 9, 1949; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and John Kensek of Plainville, and Carol and Jim Saul of Montgomery; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Margaret Colvin of Montgomery, Michael and Barbara Colvin of Loogootee, and Neil and Sheila Colvin of Jasper; one sister, Beulah Gramelspacher of Jasper; one brother, Ambrose Doyle of Montgomery; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by one son, Daniel Colvin in 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Rev. James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will be in Glenco Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
