BICKNELL — Sharon Kaye Byrer, 67, peacefully made her journey home with God at 9:25 p.m. Friday at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Born Sept. 27, 1945, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Woodrow Wilson and Edith Irene (Taylor) Russell. She attended Washington schools and was a homemaker. Sharon was a very caring person who enjoyed playing euchre, loved caring for pets, fishing, nature walks and being with family. She is survived by three daughters, Donna Kay (Tracey Detty) Gray of Bicknell, Debra Ann (Joe) McGillem of Washington, and Angela Danelle (Eric) Miller of Big Sandy, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chad Gray, Blake and Whitney McGillem, Madison Miller, Lance and Logan Detty; sisters, Beverly Cutshall, Janice Mayes, Marilyn Schwartz, Gayle Kirkpatrick, Susie Kendall, all of Washington; brothers, Ronald and Terry Russell; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; four brothers, Woodie, Jack, Harold and Noble “Butch” Russell; and several nieces and nephews are also deceased. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gill Chapel.
