MONTGOMERY — Paul Vernon Wittmer, 80, died at 8:02 p.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Born Sept. 9, 1933, in Daviess County, he was the son of Noah and Susan (Stoll) Wittmer.
He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Montgomery.
He is survived by two sons, Marvin Wittmer of Montgomery, and Darrell and wife Stacy Wittmer of Washington; three daughters, Martha Wittmer, Mary and husband Richard L. Lengacher, and Barbara and husband Francis G. Graber, all of Montgomery; one brother, Leo Raymond Wittmer of Montgomery; 11 grandchildren, Rachel Lengacher, Logan Lengacher, Trevor Lengacher, Ada Graber, Laban Graber, Andrea Graber, Jalon Graber, Kameron Graber, Treyton Wittmer, Grant Wittmer and Dirk Wittmer.
His wife, Ada (Knepp) Wittmer, whom he married June 9, 1957, died June 3, 1965. He is also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ralph, Monroe and Roy Wittmer; three sisters, Mary Margaret Wittmer, Anna Barbara Wagler, and Rachel Wittmer; two sisters-in-law, Esther and Anna Wittmer; and one brother-in-law, Wilmer Wagler.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at First Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the church.
